Finding A Target Market
Your ideal clients are what is often referred to as target market. One of the most important aspects of running a business is choosing your target market. Although a CVA can pretty much do work for anybody and everybody, it does not mean that you want to target everybody. If you do try to target everybody, you will have a hard time getting off the ground and wasting a ton of money and time because your marketing is all over the map.
A few things to consider when finding a target market:
- Experience-you need to decide what type of experience you have and who you could help the most. Whether it be work experience or industry experience
- Gender-Do you have a particular gender that you wish to target?
- Location-Do you want to stay local, regional, national or international?
- Age-Decide what age range you think you would like to provide services to and what age range would most need your services.
- Personality-What personality type best fits your personality? Needy, independent, business-oriented, family-oriented, etc
Just because you have focused on a particular target market does not necessarily mean you need to only take business from that target market. A target market is mainly to help you get the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to marketing and advertising and to help you focus on honing your skills to the need of that particular client type.
