Online Networking Tip: Signature Lines
When participating in online forums/groups, it is important to include a signature line. A signature line should (at the very least) include your name, your business name, website and blog URL. To make a link clickable always include the http:// at the beginning of the URL.
Also, don’t overdue the signature line because if you do, the important stuff will be overlooked and people will get annoyed.
Online Networking Tip: Guestbooks, Walls, etc
When online networking, it is important to post a little something on their wall, guestbook, etc. It helps open a dialogue between you and your connections so here’s a tip so that you don’t scare what could be a very important connection away:
When signing guestbooks, walls, etc it is about them, not you. Say something nice about their interests, their websites whatever just make it about them. That means no signature lines, no sales pitches and no website links unless it is not related to your business and based on their interests, you feel they could benefit from it.
